Dr. Meares is an Australian psychiatrist with many years of experience with hypnosis along with ""firsthand contact"" with Eastern mystics. His book is for the layman who is not to Compoz himself artificially but is to relax his body and his mind through a series of relaxing exercises. Thus eliminating anxiety, pain and tension (ibid irritability, insomnia, depression, stuttering, frigidity and allied ills). The main part of the book deals with the techniques (postures, etc.) and exercises which take ten minutes, twice a day; additional sections examine the etiology of sexual difficulties and pain (ways in which you can desensitize yourself). None of this is really new to those familiar with autosuggestion and what it can accomplish in these areas, but Dr. Meares gives it an intelligent presentation.
