A gathering of powerfully unsettling, unsubtle monsters led by the showy hysterics of Joseph Payne Brennan's ""Slime"" and Saki's well-known werewolf ""Gabriel-Ernest."" Mostly, these are the sort of hallucinations that heavyweights like Bradbury, Poe, Conan Doyle and Wells conjure up on an off day. . . all horrifying enough though there's a dreadful sameness of visage.
