KIRKUS REVIEW

A better book, in the handling, than his Pony Express Goes Through but a book of content, limited in appeal. The history, dramatically told, of the creation of Texas, of the men and women who did their share. The last third of the book actually presents stories recounted by men who lived through the period. Begins with the Conquistadors and carries through the statehood. Timely in connection with Centenary.
