KIRKUS REVIEW

Lavish merchandise for gift buying and for display, in a paperdoll, cutout package of the Christmas manger. In lavish colors and gilt, Helen Sewell's illustrations are printed for cutting out and pasting on a reenforcement, to be set up in the Christmas creche. The small paper bound book which contains the cut-outs, has a one page story of the birth, and end-pages of hymns. A package, not to be confused with a book. The whole thing, paper pamphet, cardboard manger and cardboard container is a lot for the money. It wont survive handling-even the box collapses the first time it is used. But stores and libraries can use it for out-of-touch display, and lots of people will buy.
