One way or another Lewis keeps losing half of all his various pairs of mittens- to the point where he is embarrassed to play with his friends. Then Sally, a new girl, comes along with the same predicament and they match mittens. Helen Kay has made a nice story out of this common problem and pastel pictures by Kurt Werth are funny too.
