MYSTERY OF THE CASTLE COINS

Rachel, twelve, spends a summer north from Miami on Calico Island (her parents are in Italy) chiefly in the company of Whitney (he's English--drops wizards right and left) and Marco San Sebastian, who claims the castle there was brought over from Spain stone by stone by his great-great-great grandfather. And that it conceals a cache of coins buried after the Spanish Civil War which will enable him to keep the castle and circumvent an old family curse. The three of them search and search, get locked up once, lost in a cave, and if the whole thing turns out, to be a castle in Spain--it's pleasant treasure-pleasure reading. Particularly because Mrs. Pundt dresses it up in a pretty prose.
