KIRKUS REVIEW

Pioneer life in the Idaho Valley was often a bitter and lonely struggle for survival in the 1880's. But in spite of their hardships that first long winter, 17-year-old Marny Eagle and her family develop a deep love for the Valley and sense of identification with its future. Marny's own conflict between family duty and romance is also happily resolved in this well told love story, definitely for the girls.
