KIRKUS REVIEW

A new writer presents a careful account of the investigation of incriminating evidence. For Homer Snyder, chief of police of a California cannery town, refuses to concur that it is newcomer Marty Weaver who has killed Palmer, although Marty's knife substantiates the accusations. Another killing, the uncovering of a young wife's infidelities, of Marty's past, a confession -- all lead to the real killer. Conscientious.
