A neat job with an intricate plot, well worked out, in the story of the murder of an unidentifiable woman in a New York hotel. The police, headed by McKee, are stymied, until the removal of dyes and stains restore the corpse to normal. She proves to be the housekeeper of a complicated family, and the crime goes back to a fraud in the past, with jewels the motive. Not an easy problem to solve -- but good entertainment.
