MORRIS AND HIS BRAVE LION

Helping young children to deal with divorce is Rogers' aim here, and despite Morris' zoo visit, toy lion and fifth birthday party, there is nothing in his story to interest children who don't share the problem of parental breakup. Even those who do might have trouble identifying with such a reasonable child--especially as Coalson's crudely reproduced pictures are so obviously turned out to order--though Rogers' treatment is gentle enough to fill a narrowly therapeutic prescription.
