WILD LILAC by Helen Topping Miller

WILD LILAC

By

Publisher: Appleton-Century

Nice rental and public library item, in the old Temple Bailey tradition. Love and the glamor of rebellion, with Joel Barron, gamblor and lone wolf, and Mary, his niece, as the central figures in their attempt to escape their New England puritan parents. Joel takes her to Louisiana, where they are attracted to the aristocratic Lineaus, widow and son, but Mary rebels again and takes up with a rotter, only to get herself involved in an escapade from which young Lineau rescues her. Love wins the day.
