KIRKUS REVIEW

. . . about people -- old men chatting at a synagogue, a young woman flirts with sailors, models pose for a fashion layout (wearing svelte clothes that will never turn up in the shops), kolkhozniks harvesting potatoes, women at a watch factory take a tea break, a picnic celebrating a Festival of Chemistry -- the face and texture of life far different from our own, in 141 photographs as only Cartier-Bresson could record it.
