June bride special, though its chief value would be before marriage, as part of the preparedness campaign, rather than afterwards. It covers such subjects as home hunting, doing over the rooms, selection of furniture, lighting fixtures, linen, silver, china and glass, closets, kitchen equipment. From then she goes on to practical post-matrimony routine, -- cleaning, care of equipment and accessories, laundry, sanitation, selection and preparation of food, the servant problem, the social side of domesticity, the handling of the budget, two-income problems, whether or not a baby. There are lists of period furniture, costs of linen, a vitamin chart, a wine chart, a sample budget, practical insurance, layettes at different price levels. Good common sense material, falling between the ultra-conservative and the ultra-modern, which should be valubale for any housekeeper.
