The case for the curative powers of bee venom in the treatment of arthritis and rheumatism is presented by a most ardent advocate who here also takes the platform to expose the dangers developing from the use of cortisone and steroid derivatives and to reveal how and why American medicine has withheld and suppressed information on bee venom therapy. He first defines arthritis and rheumatism and their possible causes and then goes on to historical uses of bee venom and how and when it can be used today. He follows this with 40 case histories and other successful treatments he has had; he surveys the claims made for cortisone and other synthetics and points out the failures; he lines up the work with bee venom in other countries and the small favorable audience it has found here; he indicates what sufferers can do to make use of this treatment. There is a bibliography, glossary, and appendix material of articles, research, letters and correspondence from abroad. A sturdy defense of a special medical procedure, this should provoke interest, pro and con.
