THE REDISCOVERY OF CULTURE

This is a most illuminating book, involving a reconstruction of the story of humanity in accordance with the findings of scientists, and the theories of one who has devoted his life to agriculture and believes that all life's problems are to be solved in terms of plant and tree culture. His thesis is that mankind made a wrong turn when he abandoned agriculture and became a flesh-eating and war-making animal. He traces to this fatal error such diverse maladies as cancer, soil erosion, nationalism, urbanization, etc. And his solution ? A return to scientific plant culture and abandonment of animal husbandry. This is not a wholly convincing argument for the road to rediscovery of culture, peace and true religion, but he argues his point with passionate conviction himself.
