. . . Isaiah Berlin, Peter Brook, John F. Kennedy, Margaret Mead, Jonathan Miller, Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller, Richard E. Neustadt, Walter Reuther, Artur Rubinstein, Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr., Ben Shahn, James Thurber, Peter Ustinov, Edmund Wilson, Frank Lloyd Wright. It's ticker-tape recording of talent and Mr. Brandon is the dean of this kind of interviewing. He was the first to decide that if you couldn't get celebs to write it down, you could at least get them to speak up although there was an occasional attack of mike fright. . . it took Edmund Wilson twenty-four hours to adjust. But these are all articulate personalities and their points of view are fascinating from philosopher Berlin on the true substance of democracy to Schlesinger on the problems of writing history to Kennedy as Senator on' the state of the union to the Millers on drama, Brook on directing, Ustinov on everything and Thurber just being funny. Certainly one of the most stimulating Conversations you can get into.
