The German Octopus came too soon, and its warnings were belittled, but it proved too sure a prophet. Now comes The Imperial Soviets, an appallingly enlightening appraisal of the inside picture of Stalinism, in its imperialistic ambitions. He shows, conclusively, a continuous chain linking German and Russian military sympathies, even when anti-communism was the battleory. He proves a continuous economic dependence, a united stand against ""capitalist aggression"". He delineates comparable patterns of propaganda, of educational methods, intended to confuse the enemy with a smoke screen. Opportunism has dictated the foreign policy; opportunism is dictating Russia's present stand, Russia's plans for domination of the Dardanelles, of Scandinavia. To this end, Stalin, supports the Reich.
