ACCORDING TO THE EVIDENCE

.....there is no doubt (but there is no proof) that Gilbert Essex is guilty of an atrocious murder and when he murders again Alec Morland administers the justice due. His fiancee, Jill, appeals to Ambrose Low (No Bail For The Judge) for help and between him and his clever wife, Elizabeth, the court is triply confounded in its trial of Morland. And it's touch and go before Morland is cleared. Tricky.
