This is a reprint of an old book known to collectors of Lincolniana, now edited, with an introduction, by Paul M. Angle, secretary of the Illinois Historical Society, and illustrated with reproductions of old prints, etc. This falls in the class of The Hidden Lincoln (edited by Hertz, Viking) giving personal reminiscences and evaluations of the many sides of Lincoln's disputed character. Angle maintains that Whitney's accuracy is not to be questioned, which gives this an authentic feel. The material sprawls -- but for the avid Lincoln devotee, this will be a welcome addition.
