KIRKUS REVIEW

Retired Inspector McGregor discovers that he has a chance to catch the Big Fish that got away while he was still on the force. The enigmatic crime kingpin, Frank Dinelli, has evidently given a little lesson to a turncoat employee who had been helping McGregor close down an after-hours club. But it's cafe society and its gossip which help McGregor until he finds another murder on his hands. This time it's a photographer and everything turns up negative until McGregor finds the unusual weapon and an unsuspected killer. Sturdy, steady and standard Kane.
