Like the previous book, it is a nostalgic backward glance to a past that is on a pinnacle in memory:- the good old days when college spirit meant something, when bigger men served on faculties,when students made more of less good educational facilities. His criticisms are few-- his praise expansive. He shows a college town, built on a small town pattern, with a small town's social distinctions.
