TO RIDE THE WIND: A Biography of Glenn L. Martin

Glenn Martin was a natural designing genius who built his first plane four years after the Wright Bros. demonstrated theirs at Kitty Hawk. He also went on to found his own company at a time when no one had any real faith in the commercial success of aviation. By WW I, he was the nation's leading manufacturer. One of his greatest contributions to the field was the mastery of mass production techniques. While not inspired, this is a consistently interesting biography.
