A good adventure story of a vagrant boy who is picked out by a rascally adventurer and given a chance at a job, more or less blind. He accepts, pushing from himself the realization that there is something crooked -- and comes a cropper, with his chief. The boy is left behind in a Cape Cod settlement, makes friends with the natives, and breaks away from his employer. Eventually he does his share in bringing the man to justice for his illegal smuggling activities. A good deal about sailing and boats and life down the Cape. Adventure rather far-fetched but good entertainment.
