GUIDE TO AMERICAN GRADUATE SCHOOLS

By

Pub Date: Nov. 27th, 1967
Publisher: Viking

Organized by two admissions officers from the New York University School of Education, this reference volume covers about 600 accredited graduate institutions. Like Wasserman and Switzer's Random House Guide to Graduate Study in the Arts and Sciences (p. 947), it provides standings, requirements, financial aid suggestions, etc., and presents a breakdown by departments. In addition to Ph.D. programs, however, it includes other degrees and all kinds of professional programs, with the exception of divinity schools. Many assiduous applicants will pick up both guides in paperback; if a library must choose between them, this one is more comprehensive, and the introductory chapters do a somewhat superior job of penetrating catalogue semantics and spelling out the situation realistically.
