THE HEALING CROSS

Clergymen will literally grab this book. Besides being on the lookout for new ideas and ways of presenting the Cross they also want books which answer the questions asked by their parishioners who cannot see why the Cross means suffering. Dr. Farmer presents no watered down message but adheres to St. Paul's preaching ""Behold the Goodness and Severity of God."" The Cross is a crown, implying conquest and victory, a price paid, a virile Cross associated with suffering but bringing healing and encouragement to those who keep the faith. A logical, intelligent book for anyone who would understand more of the law and order of the greatest mystery on earth. While an ideal Lenten item this book should be stocked at all times as it is a fine book for anyone in trouble or sorrow, for contemplation or study.
