Far from the mantanned sheen of Miami Golden Boy, this is a vulgar turnoff with saturation sex and violence stemming from the time when a model, Judy Keeler, hemorrhages to death on her waterbed. Det. Sgt. Roerch lives up to the suggestion implanted in his name and fills in the ink blots profiling a ""male-directed"" killer -- guessably one Evan Bley, ex Marvin Bleyvitz, whose other ex is a childhood memory of his mother's ""bloody thing."" He returns recurrently to that charming primal vista which seems to male-direct him toward other pornobscenities as he sets out on a cross-country trip, followed by Roerch and accompanied by an acceptant ex-convict and his girl who begins to feel sicker and sicker. She is not alone.
