Another in this very successful nature series, this little book about the banjo-eyed birds and birdlets a delight. Not only is material included about the general distribution, migration, breeding and diet, etc. but also a spellbinding section dealing with physiology of the great, staring eyes and the influence of the owl's eye structure and extraordinary neck rotation on its hunt for food. The illustrations of owls on the prowl and at home are stunning, and the handsome reproachful-looking owls on the cover is an eye-catcher. A must for the bird lovers, nature crew and the general public.
