KIRKUS REVIEW

The author of this book professes to find a satisfying philosophy for the confused modern in a slightly modified determinism. While he is theistic and distinctly anti-materialist, it is a question whether either his arguments or his statement of the question will always convince and satisfy. It professes to be popular and appeals to the non-technical everyday view of these questions. Most of the modern theories are reviewed, generally to be refuted or to stress the confusion that physical science has introduced ""into our ways of thinking"".
