THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN

If we must have comics for children (and it seems generally agreed that we must) Tintin seems to be nominated by popular acclaim in many languages other than his native French; and in France Tintin has been a prime favorite for a dozen years. Now, in translation by Danielle Gorlin, four volumes are released for the American public. Tintin has hairbreadth adventures with thieves and pirates and sunken treasure and counterfeiters in these volumes:-The Secret of the Unicorn, King Ottokar's Scepter, Red Rackham's Treasure and The Crab with the Golden Claws. The format is traditional, but the artwork and the reproduction, the humor and the zaniness are all more than a cut above average. For those who must have them- young and old- here is Tintin.
