THE HERMAN HICKMAN'S READER

The ex-Yale football coach and television entertainer is full of puns, poems, folksy stories, tear jerkers and inspirational verse. He may not score a lot of touchdowns or points against a top ranking humorist, poet or story teller, but his television fans will laugh with him over his kinfolk stories and he inspired or cry with him over verse from Grantland Rice, Rudyard Kipling, Robert Service, Edgar Guest and some other old standbyes. Full of scraps but we doubt whether even the Yale bulldog would get much meat from big hefty Herman.
