KIRKUS REVIEW

This revision of the Schneiders' book which first came out in 1950 (see p.176 of that year for report) follows the same pattern- of an apartment house a-building and the elements- water, drainage, electricity, gas and telephone cables- that must go into its service. Each of the explanatory sections works backwards- from house outlet to supply source and new cross-section illustrations by Bill Ballantine in blue and black (blue for the topic under discussion) add their touches of comedy. A welcome re-issue of a book that will appeal to the read-aloud level as well.
