HOW TO EAT YOUR ABC'S: A Book About Vitamins

By

Pub Date: May 31st, 1976
Publisher: Four Winds

A simple guide to healthful eating, sensible as far as it goes, with separate chapters on sources and functions of vitamins A, B, C, and D and one on the necessary minerals, followed by food charts and sample menus for ""problem"" occasions. Jones skims over controversies (vitamin C and colds, carcinogenic additives), but she offers some specifics on bread (so-called ""enriched"" white is ""like somebody robbing you of a dollar and returning fifteen cents"") and peanut butter (better buy it unadulterated or make your own), and vegetarians are well advised to eat eggs, milk, and ""plenty of beans, nuts and seeds"" (though they will have to ""read as much as they can about complementary proteins"" elsewhere). A balanced beginning.
