LITTLE OWL INDIAN

A striking picture book with a simple, satisfying story about an Indian boy and his brave deed. How Little Owl and his horse, White One, saved the animals of the forest and his village from a dreadful forest fire is concisely told in the text which is blocked off at the bottom of the page, to give full play to the handsome full-color pictures. The author uses large brilliant blocks of color in her illustrations, and occasionally distorts perspective for decorative effect. Each page is bordered in yellow, and the end papers are gaily designed. A spell binder for home or the ""Indian phase"" of the elementary school program.
