MADAM HEN AND LITTLE HORACE

Very English in text and format- stocking book size- and a story on the old, old theme of the mother hen who hatched a duckling, and of the wayward offspring who took to water. But Horace, in this story, wins his mother's grace when he saved the crated chicks from a watery grave. Unfortunately, the story seems strained told in verse, and the vocabulary is beyond the age level indicated.
