Thirteen year old Bobby Market disappears on the night of her junior high school prom and Inspector Fred Fellows hypothesizes sexual attack. Evidence of brain cells on the floor of Bobby's bedroom convinces the police of the validity of their rape murder suspicions and a garden is dug up, an old bastardy scandal revealed, a passing oil trucker worked over all in an intensive search for the maniac.
