A gentleman with a ""giant killer complex"" and a ""congenital affinity for difficult situations"" tells of his eventful and varied career as jack of all trades round about America and the Continent, and tells it with zest and humor. He worked on the Panama Canal as a youngster, then on a reform news sheet fighting prostitution and venereal diseases, and after the war tried to get an inside view of the Polish expedition against the Bolsheviks, under an alias, and was suspect. Back to America, where he capitalized the lion hunter racket, as ""public relations counsel"" to Earhart, Byrd and others. He collected a few adventures on the side, had considerable nosing around to do, and tells of his failures as well as his successes with great candor. Good yarning, alert, well-paced.
