THE STORY OF LEOPONS

Some years ago a Japanese zoo mated a lion and a leopard and dubbed the offspring ""leopons""; now the director of the zoo describes (in the third person) how it happened. As accompanied by appealing photographs, this is Life-like coverage devoid of scientific implications; aside from their hybrid appearance and their ability to match the skills of both parents, the leopons are another pair of cuddly cats--but they are cute. Children will spend a few pleasant moments watching them if you have money and space to spare.
