THE SECRET LIFE OF THE GOOD SAMARITAN: (and other stories)

There is nothing wrong with letting the imagination embroider a possible elaboration of the stories as simply and frugally told in the Bible, as for example in the first story told by Robert professor of speech and dramatics at Louisburg College, Louisburg, N. C. He tells what happened in the life of the Good Samaritan after he helped the man by the side of the road. This helps to bring the good Samaritan to life with the addition of human dimensions which make him a more real person. There are other stories with similar Biblical settings which provide him with at least a point of departure from which he may embark on his tale. Some too are in contemporary settings, so that the parable is modern both in manner and meaning. But all are useful in holding the mirror up to life as it in, and the reader gets the message, good or bad, to his own profit. Young people should find these stories interestingly helpful.
