PADDLE TO THE-SEA

This might fit the upper brackets of the preceding age classification -- eight and nine year olds, as well as the lower brackets of the age group indicated. Through a simple little story (which reads as though it might be supported by fact) the ways of tides and men are traced in the adventures of a foot long Indian canoe, launched with a message asking finders to help it on towards the sea. For three years the modal went, through a storm and flood, adventures and misadventures, from French Canada, by the Great Lakes, rivers, overland with helpful finders, and finally reached its goal, the sea, and was carried across the ocean to France. No illustrations available as yet (illustrated by the author), but the text is unique in its holding to possible facts concerning the waters on our Canadian border.
