KIRKUS REVIEW

When Mama leaves little Alvin with Libby and Sam, they try everything they can think of to comfort him, but to no avail. Alvin can't tell them what he does want, only what he doesn't--until Mama comes home and cures all with the kiss she forgot to give him on the way out. Keller's warm, ultra-simple, sweetly designed illustrations strike just the right gently humorous note; a decorative border, echoing Mama's hat, provides a clue for sharp-eyed young ""readers."" A nicely perceptive glimpse into two-year-old psychology and the affections of young children.
