KIRKUS REVIEW

Though this story is supposed to be laid near a Pennsylvania mine, it is brimming over with Irish fairy gaiety. One evening Maeve invoked the ancient charm ""All fairies near will now appear"" when, lo and behold, a sooty creature appeared on the hearth, none other than Cinder Ike. From then on he kept reappearing and entering into their adventures.
