KIRKUS REVIEW

One of the best Harlem stories that has come my way, and one that rings true. Steppin had one ambition, to be a tap dancer, but his pride has plenty of bumps before he finds that it isn't accomplished all in a day. Nice human beings, with their ups and downs of temperament -- good picture of cross section of Harlem life, with all the characters Negroes.
