KIRKUS REVIEW

Paul Pine, private investigator, is prodded by his conscience-and the widow of a dead man- to proceed with an inquiry into his death. The local police is adamant (suicide as against murder); a prominent family untouchable; so that Pine plays it his way and alone in the succession of casualties to follow which are silenced save for insinuation of blackmail....Pretty involved, but a snarling vernacular. Cosmo one shot.
