BLAZER THE BEAR

Information about forest fires, their prevention and the origin of the famous poster with the bear on it, has its roots in a story about stubborn Paul who sets fire to a forest when he goes on a picnic. When the blaze is out, rescuers are led to the unconscious boy by old Blazer who stands as a sentinel over him. In the hospital, remorseful Paul draws a picture of Blazer the authorities want to use for a poster, but the tale's obvious morality will dampen spirits where they should be kindled.
