THE TALL HUNTER

A short book, but as usual Mr. Fast tells a story so effectively that you can never forget what he writes. He tells of his ""grandfather's grandfather"" who followed Daniel Boone into the wilderness of Kaintuck. For years he could not bear even the simplest civilization, until he saw Ellen. Desperately in love with her he settled down, but one day when he came back from a short hunting trip, he found the cabin burned down and no sign of his Ellen. Miserable years passed until Johnny Appleseed brought her home from her Indian captors.
