Not as limited in interest as perhaps the title might suggest. This subject allows plenty of latitude to a number of prominent writers (Faith Baldwin, Anne Colver, Elizabeth Enright, Frances Frost, Inez Irwin, Sophie Kerr, Phil Stong, and others). The themes run from boyish mischief to poignant childhood drama; the settings range from Staten Island to a Mongolian tent. Admirably suited to the always-in-demand family read-aloud book; a good book to send to a young invalid. Good high average quality in stories themselves.
