KIRKUS REVIEW

The professional and personal involvement of a private eye, Timothy Wilde, in the affairs of the wealthy Wetzlers; Frank Sr. who is murdered; Frank Jr. who drinks excessively, loves obsessively; and Catherine, his wife, whose attraction does not obscure a possibility of guilt. A questionable medical diagnosis, blackmail, arson, and two further deaths sustain some even excitement and the pitch is high.
