TUMBLEDOWN DICK: All People and No Plot

I loved it, though, as the sub-title confesses, there is ""no plot"". It is part of a year in the life of a boy, brought up on a truck farm, who goes to Manchester to visit an uncle in the pet business, and who finds plenty of adventures in the markets, the streets, the shop itself, and among the odd assortment of people whom it is his fortune to meet. Howard Spring once again taps his own incredible story-book boyhood for an authentic picture of street life, as experienced by a boy.
