A MATTER OF LIFE

Dr. Martin is the founder of a N.Y. Geriatrics Clinic so that his discussion of not only adding ""years to life but life to the years"" is based on a considerable longevity of experience, thirty years in the field. It also takes into consideration death control without a corresponding birth control (the population explosion) and the misdirected goal of preserving man without improving him. His brief, eminently reasonable book argues for choosing healthy children with the proper genetic controls, planned parenthood (both the Roman Catholic Church Approved techniques and others), prenatal care (including some of Ashley Montagu's Life Before Birth- p. 433 -- admonitions), and nutrition and diet all the way through. A valid re-statement of much which has been proved rather than practised.
