THE LIFE OF D. H. LAWRENCE

By

Pub Date: Oct. 3rd, 1938
Publisher: Dodge

A fairly complete portrait of the author and his life, less high-flown than previous ones. The biographer has drawn liberally on Lawrence's own works for the most significant characteristics of his tortuous, unstable, volatile personality. He has also tapped the reservoirs of other testimonials, in the writings of his wife, of Middleton Murry, of Dorothy Brett, of Mabel Dodge Luhan. There is little that is new. Considerable space is given to analyses of his works in so far as they are involved in his personality and his human relationships.
